Design Engineer
The position
As Design Engineer at PAL-V, you will contribute to the design and detailing of key systems that are essential to the succesful realisation of our innovative vehicle. At PAL-V our design organisation is dedicated to the ongoing development, flight testing, certification and continued airworthiness of our FlyDrive solution, including all components and subsystems. You’ll work closely with engineers from various disciplines to ensure that every component meets the highest standards of safety, functionality, and manufacturability.
Your future job
Tasks and responsibilities
- Utilizing hand calculations and/or FEM to develop and detail innovative concepts for various components and systems within the PAL-V.
- Design and further develop existing systems, such as the brake system, steering system, hydraulics, and electrical system, ensuring they meet safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive compliance demonstration reports in English, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with suppliers as needed, fostering effective communication and coordination to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of components.
Softwareskills
- Experience with SolidWorks or a equivalent.
- Experience in compliance demonstration and/or certification is preferred.
- Experience with a PLM System. We use Windchill.
Your profile
- You have a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, with expertise in mechanical, automotive, electrical, aerospace, or related disciplines.
- Experience with CAD, FMEA, strength calculations and FEM.
- Experience in compliance demonstration and/or certification is preferred.
- Strong written communication skills in English.

- The Design Engineer is graded within our job and salary structure, ranging from € 4.269 to a maximum of € 5.622 gross per month. For starters, we use a starter scale.
