The position
As Design Engineer at PAL-V, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to revolutionise transportation by contributing to the development of the world's first flying car. Working in one of our specialised engineering project teams, you will be responsible for designing and detailing various systems critical to the successful realisation of our groundbreaking vehicle.
Your future job
Tasks and responsibilities
- Utilizing hand calculations and/or FEM to develop and detail innovative concepts for various components and systems within the PAL-V.
- Design and further develop existing systems, such as the brake system, steering system, hydraulics, and electrical system, ensuring they meet safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive compliance demonstration reports in English, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with suppliers as needed, fostering effective communication and coordination to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of components.
- Work within one of our engineering project teams, Landing Gear, Body & Interior, Electrical Systems, Structures, Lift System, or Powerplant. Your assignment will be based on your experience and preference.
Softwareskills
- Experience with SolidWorks or a equivalent.
- Working with office 365
- Experience with a PLM System. We use Windchill.
Your profile
- You have a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, with expertise in mechanical, automotive, electrical, aerospace, or related disciplines.
- Experience with CAD, FMEA, strength calculations and FEM.
- Experience in compliance demonstration and/or certification is preferred.
- Strong written communication skills in Dutch and/or English.

- The Design Engineer is graded within our job and salary structure, ranging from € 3.907 to a maximum of € 5.145 gross per month. For starters, we use a starter scale.
- Enjoy a commuting allowance of €0.23 per kilometre, up to a maximum one-way distance of 75 km and receive €2.34 for a home working day;
- Benefit from a holiday bonus of 8% and receive 27 vacation days, with the option to purchase an additional 10 days for those moments when you need time for yourself;
