Lead Safety Engineer

In your role as Safety Engineer you will be a key member in managing and overseeing all Safety related activities that are carried out during the development and certification of the PAL-V liberty. You will be working within the Office of Airworthiness in a flexible role, cooperating closely with many teams such as Design Engineering, Vehicle Test Organisation, subcontractors for outsourced Safety work and work closely with the Compliance Verification Engineers. The Safety Engineer will ensure that the safety certification plan for the PAL-V liberty is executed and in that role you will report to the Certification Project Teamlead. 

In this role, you are responsible for overseeing the Safety process throughout the entirety of the PAL-V Liberty's design life cycle until certification. This entails meticulously reviewing Function Hazard Assessments (FHA's) and System Safety Assessments (FTA's, CCA's) as outlined in the safety certification plan. Additionally, you manage outsourced safety activities, collaborating closely with design teams to offer engineering support where needed. Conducting comprehensive Systems Safety and Reliability analyses for aircraft (sub)-systems is a crucial aspect of your duties. You are also tasked with creating and scrutinizing safety and reliability requirements, while overseeing the validation and verification activities associated with them. Furthermore, part of your role involves the continuous development and enhancement of design and certification procedures, guidelines, work instructions, and templates to ensure optimal safety standards are met and maintained.
