Cockpit overview of your role

As a Lead Software Engineer, you lead the design, development, and integration of embedded software for safety‑critical vehicle systems, translating requirements into software architectures and supporting certification activities. You mentor team members, manage outsourced development, and contribute to process improvements and technical strategy, ensuring alignment from vehicle‑level objectives to certification frameworks.

In this role, you translate system and component requirements into embedded software architectures and develop C/C++ software on bare‑metal or RTOS‑based platforms, covering integration and verification. You provide technical leadership within the Electrical Systems team by mentoring engineers, coordinating with external partners, and leading design reviews. You define and execute test and verification strategies, support debugging and root cause analysis, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards such as ISO 26262 and DO‑178C. Additionally, you contribute to process improvements and the evolution of the embedded software platform, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and documentation.

What makes you a great fit

You have an HBO/WO level of working and thinking in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and bring over 10 years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in automotive, aerospace, or similar high‑tech environments. You possess strong expertise in embedded C/C++, real‑time systems, software architecture, and debugging, and are familiar with model‑based design tools such as Simulink, version control systems like Git, and software lifecycle management. Experience with safety‑critical software development standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, and DO‑178C is a strong plus. You communicate effectively, collaborate easily across teams, and are fluent in English, both written and spoken.

The fulltime role is classified within a salary range of € 4.706 and € 7.238 gross per month and attractive benefits, including allowances, an 8% holiday bonus, 27 vacation days with the option to buy more, and a solid pension scheme.
