Lead Software Verification Engineer
The position
As a Lead Software Verification Engineer, you take full ownership of the design, execution, and management of the software verification strategy for the PAL-V's Engine Control Unit (ECU). You work plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance required for a vehicle that operates both on the road and in the air.
You will create and maintain a suitable test environment, potentially in collaboration with external suppliers, and ensure that all software is thoroughly tested against clearly defined requirements. You know how to identify defects, bugs, and improvement opportunities, and report these in a structured and effective way.
Collaboration and communication are key: you will work closely with software developers, certification engineers, and other specialists to ensure findings are resolved efficiently and effectively.
Your future job
Tasks and responsibilities
- Develop, own, and execute the software verification strategy for the ECU.
- Create and manage a representative test environment, potentially in cooperation with a supplier.
- Test software against pre-defined requirements following structured engineering methods.
- Identify, document, and report defects, bugs and potential improvements.
- Collaborate closely with software developers to support efficient resolution of findings.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of our verification processes, automation, and tools.
Your profile
- Strong experience in software testing for complex embedded systems.
- Proficiency with C code, GIT, test automation, and relevant test tooling.
- Background in Automotive or Aerospace Engineering environments.
- Experience with development of Airborn Electronic Hardware (AEH).
- Knowledge of APR4754 and DO-178C standards.
- Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps or similar issue-tracking tools.
- Proactive, structured, and quality-minded.
